Has anyone on here had problems with new scrims going into holes BEFORE :o they are worn in?

The last lot i brought are all doing it but my supplier swears they are the same scrim as always. He did tell me that they are making them with a lot looser weave than they used to.

Richard

You are using scrims that are stitched (hemmed) all around aren't you?  I believe unstitched scrims can be less durable than stitched.

Have you tried microfibre?
Perhaps you don't like them, but if you haven't I'd recommend giving them a go.

It's all I use now.

me too, unger

Sounds like you've bought some 'proper' scrim. My old trick is laying the scrim out on gravel, drive or path etc. Put some over it and do that shuffle that gardeners do to the soil before laying turf. Works a treat I promise - just make sure no one sees you doing it or you'll be carted off to the nearest wacky warehouse ;D

As and when you get a spare moment.

Hi Dave,

If you're still snowed-under I'm in no real rush, but I probably need them by month-end.

Hope all's well.
