It depends on what methods you are going to use, the cost of any products and how much you want to make.

I generally use steam to get the majority of the paint of, then a citrus gel to get rid of any ghosting.  It is a fairly quick process, the longest part is waiting for the gel to work.
I normally charge between £20 and £30 per square metre but insist that a survey be done on the affected area first as it may take a lot longer if the whole squre metre is full of graffiti rather that just writing etc.

I would be looking to make about £50 an hour profit - minimum.

hey Andy, have you had any formal training? what susbtances do you use to remove the paint??

I had to remove some from a shopping centre that i clean, my products removed most of the paint apart from a few black marks in the cement in between bricks, could this have something to do with the pressure of the washer do you know?

I'd like to get into it more but the formal training i've seen is nearly 3k

Not had any formal training, a customer I was doing some gum removal for asked if I would 'have a go' at some graffiti and it came off with just steam.
Since then I have just experimented and found different ways of doing it from cold water at low pressure through to sandblasting some Hammerite off a wall.
In most cases I remove as much as possible using the steam and then apply the citrus graffiti remover (think it is called 'It Really Works' - found it on the net). And in exceptional cases I use a product called Ghost which (funnily enough) gets rid of the remaining ghosting.  (This is from a company called Merlin Chemicals).

I had a job on a newly restored victorian house, where the bricks were more like sponges! As Andy said the steam cleared the majority of the paint. The darker the paint the more likely it is to require a chemical to remove the 'ghosting'. in this case it required a second application of Ghost ( good stuff!) but the owners were over the moon with the result, especially as I cleaned it all without damaging the bricks with a high pressure jet!
On the pricing side the customer was very gratefull that their house was in good order and so paid perhaps 3 days money for 11/2 days work!...A survey, I found was always required, to find out what surface the graffiti is on
