Hi all

I'm just wondering if it's worth getting a wonderwand when I buy my new machine, Thing is I wouldn't ever get one at the proper price but can get a real good deal whilst buying the machine.

I've been told they are too bulky and weighty and read threads where they don't actually dry that well.
Also when on a course at cleansmart Derek Boltons wonderwand shagged up with leaking jets lol

However I've read many posts where they seem to be white mans magic, and at the price they shift for they must be doing something right.

Anybody out there use this wand daily or looked into buying one and decided not too or had one and didn't like it or................... you get the point lol

Yep, I use one on all my jobs.

Works extremly well.

Dont know where you get the info they are heavy! Did you see the roller on the back? That helps on the forward stroke - no need to lift the wand off the carpet  just tilt the wonderwand down a little and push along.

Have you seen the adverts for the glides that fit over the lip of "conventional" wands - thats to help get better suction and ease with the movement of the wand.
No need for that with the wonderwand.

I have had mine for 17 months now and replaced the little washers around the jets at its service a few months ago. If the jet-bar is not seated proper you will get leaking fluid but thats an operator "error" easily cured (fit the jet bar properly).

They are expensive but a good joiner (or any tradesman) will spend good money to get quality gear that will enhance his skills - so why not a carpet cleaner??

Oh yes - they do leave the carpet fairly dry as well.

Its win win time.

Which machine are you getting that you want to use this with??

Can you just replace the seals and jets yourself??

The machine I have is a Powerflite Perfect Heat CFR500.

Must admit I stepped up from a little Pneumatic (still got it), then to a Texatherm system (still got it), then to the CFR 500 - so it was a big step in performance - and I love the machine. What I would have liked was the control panel to be higher up and to be able to protect the electric connections so I can work with machine left outside more (fine weather only at the moment).

I have a CFR hand tool as well - took me a bit to get used to this as the angle of it was all "wrong" (for me) but I was encouraged by the dealer to persevere, which I did, and now realise the angle was just right! Again, a bit more then the "normal" tool but well worth it.

Seal replacement is no big problem - machine was in for a service so I had little things done at the same time. Only one jet seal was leaking but had all three done.  Had to have the jets and seals together - forgot what the price was but not much really.

I think with the Wonderwand you either love it or hate it.

The only way to find out is to use one for a few days.

I just got a teflon glide for my standard wand. Far easier to use now and personally I think gives better recovery, but that could all be in my head.

I believe Matt at Cleansmart will let you borrow a ww. I'd save your money and buy a cfr hand tool, one of only a few things I have ever bought and ownership exceeded the hype.
