i've come across washing up liquid quite a few times, were the custy used fairy as a spotter, on wool carpets it can strip the color out, it also foams alot! zap it will get rid of the foaming, it can also damage the color content on certain synth carpets as well ie; nylon, because of the ph of fairy.  char    i'm only speaking from my own personal experience other c/c may say different.

Or do you mean the circle left on the carpet by the ring on the bottom of the bowl?

That can be harder to shift. A regular customer of mine did it on an 80/20 beige carpet, the heat of the water in the bowl sort of melted all that grot (tea, grease etc etc) into  the carpet, it had also distorted the pile.

The usal spotters didnt work, it kept coming back after a few days probably because of the grease attracting the dirt.

I used Enzall in the end and a very hot rinse, this helped to reallign the pile and she was dead chuffed. She rang to say it was ok.

I think I will try and get Enzall as it is a stain from the bowl.

If my supplier hasnt got it then what is similar from other suppliers?

Hi,

In my expereience of washing up liquid, the resoiling is due to the detergent residue.  The detergents are pretty stable and you will not be able to break them down.  The only thing you can do is to flush out the residue with bucket loads of water.

I would use a stair tool and lift the effected area up.  This is hard to decribe, but dont push the tool into the carpet, try and raise the carpet up using the suction from the tool.  Then i would just keep rinsing it, over and over, until it stops foaming.

The last time this happened, i probably used 10-15 litres of water on a square foot to fully remove it.  She had spilled quite a lot of fairy on the carpet, so your mark might not be as bad.  I was thinking of lifting the carpet off the gripper, but didnt need to in the end as i dont think it had penetrated through the action back.

Remember to use a lot of anit-foam in the waste tank and coninually check it and remove the foam.

Finish it off by doing a few minutes of dry strokes as the area will be pretty saturated.  Warn the customer that the area is likely to take slightly longer to dry.

Hope this helps

Graeme
