Small Commercial quote. What would you charge?
« on: July 08, 2007, 05:16:54 pm »
Hi all,

Got to price up an 'Early learning centre' shop tomorrow.  As I do very little commercial work, could any of you give me an idea what sort of price per square metre you would charge?  Just a rough price would do as a guide.  I don't have room size as yet but it would obviously be done after closing hours.

Cheers for any advice.

I'd just go for my normal charge plus extra for any gum ( 50 p per piece ). You normally can`t get a good price for commercial but if you mention that you won't charge extra for after hours they'll probably feel that they're getting looked after, Regards Geoff

Without knowing sive of room, amount of clutter in the way, type of carpet, level of soiling id say the best thing to do is work out how long you think it will take and price accordingly, you will know your average hourly rate its up to you then if you want to charge more or less.

Looked at one last year, life on the ocean waves when buggies were pushed and the gaffer tape could see a claim coming!  Said thanks but no thanks, but would have priced at £400 £300 with the TM.

Dene is on the money, hourly rate charge is best, but you do know that they will go for the cheapest quote, give them a price for just carpet cleaning and a price for removal of furniture and gum that way you'll have 2 bites of the cherry.

I guess you could argue that the one offering the most value for money will win the quote.

One offering a clean for x wont win over a better pitched quote for x+25%.

We could discuss price and value all day.
