How much would you pay?
« on: July 03, 2007, 09:32:18 pm »
I know that companies like door knockers are prepared to sell you resedential new business for 2x but would you be more interested in paying an ongoing percentage of monthly cleans and no up front fee?

If so what percentage would YOU be prepared to pay? (commercial work) 8)

Do you mean that you would not own the customer and rent the customer from the canvassing company? Pay them an ongoing percentage?

In theory it sounds like a good idea, be hard to work it though, canvassing company would be better off renting the round to you. I would'nt be interested in either way, i am happy paying my canvassers x2 and the work is mine.

Paying a percentage fee every time a property was cleaned is something that I would consider.

The rate I would pay would depend on the property concerned, the size and total cleaning time involved also how I would be paid and how long this would take if it was by invoice.

I would say that each property would have to have its own percentage fee fixed on a one by one basis.

A single figure would be hard to estimate but a figure of between 10 and 25% could be achieved.

Why would you want to pay an ongoing fee of up tp 25% of a job? Is it because of not having the money there to begin with to pay for the service? Most of my jobs on average are £20-£30, so if i paid them 25% of those that would work out quite alot over the period of the term i had the customer. The canvassing company would want there money every month for the 4/6/8 weekly cleans, so what happens when you dont clean cos of rain, you go on holiday, cant be bothered to work so you get behind with work?? The canvassing company will still want there money. I think im better off with paying a set fee for the customer, and once paid they are my customer and its down to me to keep them.

The work that they would produce is commercial, the majority of this type of work I would accept would have to be worth at least £100 per clean., so to finance a company who want 2 or 3 times the valve up front could be expensive, for example I could take on an extra £5000 worth of work per month, if its the type and price I want, but to outlay £10000 or £15000 is beyond me.

They also would only be paid if the work is carried out.

Because they on relying on a commision only basis, the customers they would produce would be quality customers.

I thought we were talking about residential customers, my mistake. Cant see any canvassing company wanting to do that, i maybe wrong. I get the odd commercial job that they pick up for me, and i have a little aggreement with them on price, depending on the job!! Im more interested in residential!!
