A short lived business
« on: September 30, 2004, 11:26:23 pm »
Hi everybody, hope you are all doing well.

Unfortunately, carpet cleaning was a short lived business for me as I just could not get enough jobs to pay the mortgage!

I would like to sell my machine etc, if anybody is interested please either call me on 01672 564504 or e-mail me at sstevejudge@aol.com.

I have a Steempro Powermax 2000 SX2100 with chemicals, etc etc - ideal if somebody is keen to start up.

I live near Swindon - any queries please get in touch.

Dont give up i  have moved to a new area and have struggled for 5 months , things are starting to pick up.

Its all all about getting you name out leaflets work but its hard work getting  them out when your do them yourself.

When you get a few jobs the leaflets still need to go out. Probably more important than doing any job that comes in. Though doing a good job is important to get your passed on.

Get a evening job to pay the bills if neccessary but cc will pay eventually

I thought about giving up  bit i'm determined to make it work for me.

Hi Steve

How long have you been doing this?  What are your circumstances?  Think about why you went into this in the first place, is there really no other alternative?

I'd like to say - Keep your equipment and find a full time job - do your carpet cleaning as a side line (above board) until you build up a clientelle.  However we each have different circumstances and priorities - I just hope all goes well for you in the future.

Hi

Fox is taking a lot of sense.... it's a real shame after coming so far...
if you read many of the other posts over the months you will find many other carpet cleaners doing other things (contract cleaning/window cleaning/oven cleaning even patio cleaning) to help out with the bills

Realistically it takes a year or so until you have a client base sufficient to keep you going full time all the year around

Good luck

steve, consider the future, do you want to succeed in
c.c.  if so , take a part time job as suggested to pay those bills and morgage,
Why throw your hard work away? things might look glumy at times ,as im sure many on here will tell you .
i started c.c. early thise year , used to sell fruit,n,veg
on the markets , bad slump in buisness made me consider c.c. .So i kept trading on by buissest day , a sunday . It pays the bills
now am enjoying a steady flow of buisness in c.c. and hopefully things will get better, all this after a number of set backs
van and equipment stolen after 3 months, but with lots of help and understanding from members on here getting back on my feet( slowly but surly)
so get a p/t job work at your c.c. and in the should pay dividends
heres to your future , percivere, work hard grab ever oppurtunity
good luck geoff
who ever said dont knock before u try ,i never tried dog crap but i know i wouldnt like  haha

I go along with everybody else,Why not just do it part-time till things pick up and they will.Remember we have all been there and got the T-shirt.
Good Luck for the Future.
