Priced up a job this morning for a customer that I am doing next week, H/S/L and 6 large deep pile wool rugs averaging 10 x 8 each spread over the house. He asked me if there was a way to stop the rugs slipping on the carpet underneath, 3 in particular, I explained to him about both gripper tape and the plastic grippers that claw into the carpet pile. This was off the top of my head as I have never used or fitted either before but he has asked me to provide a price for fitting to 3 of the rugs.
Judging by the carpet underneath I believe the plastic grippers would be best.
Anyone had experience of these?
Also where can I get them from? Carpet shops? DIY stores?
What sort of price should I charge? Percentage on top of cost price plus labour?
On a seperate note, how do I best handle the wet wool rug smell you get with cleaning these. The last few I have done I have taken home to do and been able to leave in my store room to dry completely before returning but obviously this isn't an option here because of the size and number of rugs involved. Explained to the customer that wet cleaning wool rugs does leave a lingering smell but want to minimize this as much as possible.
Thanks Paul
