Help with flyer design
« on: June 27, 2007, 11:13:01 am »
Hi All

I am trying to design a flyer. Does this look any good - http://www.djcomps.co.uk/windowpro.JPG

Obviously it needs tidying up and the fonts sorting out, but generally does it look ok?

If it looks crap and you think I should get it professionally done, please be blunt.

I think it looks ok.

My only comment would be to highlight the fact that you are a Window Cleaner as initial thoughts don't convey that message instantly. You don't want to be discarded by someone who thinks your double glazing or alike?

Otherwise, looks good stuff.

David, is your business name windowpro? As Trevor suggests highlight the fact that you do window cleaning... perhaps "Window Cleaning Service by ........" The logo suggests that you use trad methods as well, so personally I would change the wording to modern and traditonal methods used including a purified water high reach system for upper levels....something along those lines. That would reduce your first 2 bullets to one and give you more space for "customer benefits"
Personally I would not advertise what payment option you have, but would advertise "various payment methods available" No expert as we don't take CC's, but doesn't that cost a bit to set up? If so, what if you only have one customer that wants to pay by CC? Just a thought!
Our experience has taught us keep it short and to the point. Good luck ;D

Hi

Thanks for the pointers. My wife said exactly the same think about making it clear what service I am offering or ending up unread in the bin.

Who do you get to print them up for you or do you do them yourselves?

Helen - Yes, unfortunately WindowPro is the best I could come up with. Marketing was never my strong point.

As for accepting credit cards, it is fairly easy to do through Paypal. You can setup as a merchant with them and accept credit cards, only over the phone though.

Mhall

Thanks for posting that. It looks far better then my effort. Will go back to the drawing board.

Thanks

David

David, wasn't putting down your business name just claryfing, I quite like it.  :)
Why not start with Window Cleaning Service (or whatever)"
Then bullet points
Then Contact WindowPro on.........  and speak to David.....also give times of "office" opening/closing following with answering service for out of hours calls. This then gets your customers used to the fact straightaway that you are not at their beck and call 24/7 ;) Keep it simple and straight to the point, either they will call you or not, when you get the calls and go round to quote, that is the time then to expand the details and sell yourself along with your service.

I like Mhall's design a lot.

David3511,  I thought yours was OK, but copy Mhalls if he is OK with it.

I got my flyers printed by Aurapress at aurapress@ukonline.co.uk they did us
10k A5 full colour flyers on high gloss paper for £145 plus £25 delivery no VAT.

All I did was sent them the pdf file via email, flyers arrived a week later.

Used them 3 times now great service.
