Jets. 16" Brush, Diy etc
« on: June 15, 2007, 04:37:01 pm »
Any advice on rigging up 1mm jets DIY?

I was thinking that having six on a 16 inch brush would speed things up no end. Kind of fan jetish but without the spray.

Anyone tried it? Or maybe just four on a normal brush. What do you reckon. Has anyone tried the larger brush on domestics with normal jets?

I used to use 2x3mm, then tried 3x3mm but the pressure dropped a bit cause I only use 35psi pumps. Then went on to 4x1mm but alter the jets sizes to suit the job. You just need to balance the flow to match the pump using a By pass or Variflow.
I have had 6 jets on an 11" brush- you need the space to fit the T joints so fitting 6 on a 15 inch maybe easier. 6 sounds about right.

hmmm. Could you use a tube with the holes drilled into it, seal it at both ends, and feed the water in the middle? So get a T shape, stick a peice of tube with two or three hole in on either side of the T? Then run it on the top of the brush. If the holes were small enough, they should all get a good flow. Would it work?

If it did then no jets would be made as such, just holes in the pipe.

yes a jet is a hole. The tube (Micro bore size 4mm)should also be capable of pivoting at both ends so that the jets can be directed to the correct angle on the glass, either through the bristles or over the top. Prob with that is that if the brush is tilted sideways the upper jets have less pressure and flow while the lower ones have more.
