Forgive the non-believers
« on: May 18, 2007, 11:50:01 am »
HI all

I have been a window cleaner for the past 10 years, 6 months ago I lost work to the council who employed WFP cleaners to do the job, It was a set of flats with elderly people.
At first the residents asked the council to stop the WFP cleaners. I looked at the work and said to the residents you cannot beat the old way of doing it. But the more that they cleaned it, the better it got and that was with me putting soap back on to the windows. So I thought I will look into this, I was on ebay looking up equipment and came across a trolly system by A.L windows systems. I got incontact with Alan and he asked if I would like a demonstration. So off I went to see this water feed in action. Alan is a window cleaner that makes trolly systems to order. So he cleaned his bungalow and a big conservatory in no time at all. The windows looked messy, but he made me a coffee and then went though all the need to know about water feed window cleaning. He asked me to inspect the windows. After 10 years of trade I could not fault one window :o.
He asked if I would like to buy a trolly and I said yes. Now if you are thinking of getting a trolly I really do recomend A.L. Window systems not only did he sell me a trolly but he really knows how to look after his customers. If I had a problem he was quick to return my calls, he gave me the full picture of window cleaning with WFP. So if a problem did come up it was not a shock. I have been a WFP for the past 4 months and still learning. But  I would like to apologise to all you WFP cleaners out there for me thinking that WFP is no good. Its good to be wrong sometimes....

HI

Yes it is my first post, But that ties in with what I said. I have been window cleaning for 10 years trade and have no reason to join a form as you know, wfp there is more to it and looking for info I came across this site. The point of the post is sowing that water feed window cleaning is a good tool and if I can learn from it, it might help others. As for the positive comment on the trolly system I was just pasing on what has helped me..

SO IF YOU RESPOND NOW YOU CAN GET UP TO 50% yes thats 50% OF ADDERS RINSE AND CLEAN ;D

Thanks

What you said about the council flats not being cleaned as well as you did them could well have been true though.
Many commercial WFP operators who do public sector accounts employ staff who really couldn't seem to care less whether they leave the windows clean or not.

A quick rub in the middle of the glass with a worn out brush, no rinsing or just a token tilt of the brush and move on. They probably haven't checked their tds either.

At the bottom end of the market standards are very low.

In on it, what do you think this is a paul daniels magic show, you lot just dont give up. As for being best friends, do you really think a sado like me can make friends ::) Last night I told my imaginery friend what you lot was saying and I found him dead this morning ;)

Just a guy who put on a post, Sorry that my first post was not I HAVE JOINED YOUR FORM. The next one I am working on is WHY DO I BOTHER.

Wait a minute,

if you think I am advertising and you are negative about this. I could say that it sounds like you have connections with the other company and are trying to shut up the underdog.

So its not what I say its how you read in to it.

I do not know the name of the company just that thay are based in nuneaton. When they first started the clean was not good at all. But I know now about first cleans. The residence still wanted me but the more they came to clean the better it got and you do not have 2 window cleaners. The clean was so good that it made me look in to it, and now I have changed over.

Vince i would like to comment on your remarks concerning standards of work.

Yes most contractors do seemto work on percentages for cleaning & leave most of the buildings dirty, i wont name any but i see some unbelievably dirty buildings that have got a w/c.

I have gone out to ensure that we do ours to a high standard & that has reaped rewards, picking up probably 100 commercial & council related buildings.

Yes sometimes we are unable to take them on as the previous w/c was charging to low i.e primary school £25.00 & high school £400 or less & these are fairly big buildings. But when we do get them we them well & constantly continue to gain more work approx 20 new in april.

I am currently quoting for 2 hospitals, which are also absolutely filthy, & will take a lot to get clean, but if we succeed then i shall use these as stepping stone to chase more hospitals.

I do about 12+ schools in my area there are 300 to 400 imagine 10% of them ,thats also the pack i,m putting together.

If you do a job right you will succeed & pick up more work & hopefully some people improve or increase there prices also.
