Totaly lost it
« on: October 13, 2007, 11:51:48 am »
Today I went to collect for the second time at a house of bad payers. Turned up and one of the three adults answers the door bleary eyed "oh window cleaner" shuts the front door and leaves me waiting for a while. Opens the door and says I've got eight pounds fifty (it's twelve) well that was it I flipped and ended up muttering the f word and storming off with nothing. The next house I got a "not today" I said it was a bit dodgy - "why's that" he said so I mentioned he might get dropped. Well that's the way it is I haven't got any money do it next time."
I came home after that as the next one would have been punched - very unprofessional I know but I still find the general public and their attitude to me disgracefull.  >:( >:(
My wife works on customer service in a large supermarket - I don't know how she does it.

I would have taken the £8 as it is better than nothing, and the next that said not today I would have said, I will clean them anyway you can send a cheque and say I know you always pay me so I dont mind doing it for you (makes them feel better)

Going home was a good idea it you was losing it, as that could cost you many customers  ;) customer service is part of are job

Thing is some of my jobs are totally reliant on the customer being home as I need access through the garage. This leaves them in the commanding position of wether they let me in or not.

Hi,

That great fib "the customer is always right" is not so, we all know it but we adopt the great British "stiff upper lip attitude" that does not solve the problem all of the time.

Some customers are using this postal strike as an excuse as well, what can we do?

Take good care.

there are some people I clean for that will say that or ask me to pop back, I just clean them as I know 99% of customers pay, the other 1% get dropped if late more than 3 times
