Hydramaster RDM

Anyone had experience of using this tool. I'm not interested in the ease of use - that's a no brainer. I would like to know if it's any good at restoration jobs - black top or maybe deep pile carpet. I get the idea that it's more of a surface cleaning tool rather than getting the solution down to the root of the pile like a cfr tool?

I use one from time to time but dont find it any better than the wand, maybe im not using it right ??
