windows above conservatory
« on: April 29, 2007, 10:29:53 am »
just started out and am having real problems with the windows above a conservatory.
I use an 18ft fiberglass pole which i know is to short as it bends like a banana and feels heavy so what pole is best for the job?
or is there any technique i should use to clean them?
im now going to buy a platform ladder so im higher up when doing them and that should help but i think its the pole that needs a change?

or can anyone suggest a pole they use?i thought about a  25ft prolong but that might be a bit heavy.
any help would be great.
cheers joe

Hi Joe

i use an unger optiloc pole converted to waterfed which is also 18ft and find it great also with windows above conservatory,s i find i clean most of them from either side of the conservatory or if i do have to go right over the top i just change the angle of the brush on the angle adapter.
must admit that i have been thinking about getting a 24ft carbon pole just the thought of spending a money does nothing for me when the unger pole does the job and replacement locking clamp,s are cheap enough........

I switched to a 24ft pole for this type of work.  Probably better to get a lighter weight one though due to the difficult angle.

i use a ionics 40ft pole with a section taken off.....

its ok , no problems... if it gets too heavy i have a rest.  ::) and then carry on.... sometimes i let the conservatory roof take the load  :) :)./... and flick the brush.... but shooooosh!  ;D

24ft carbon pole, more expensive but well worth it, a dream compared to a glass fiber pole.
