Anyone park on these? I have to - and half on the pavement for one job. Not sure how I would stand if the police were to come along?

I do sometimes.

The traffic wardens don't bother me, they know I'm working and won't be long.
Of course it helps if you live in a small town and they all know you...

If the equipment is on your van and it can not be removed ie waterfed pole, then you can use double yellows to carry out your job. If you are trad you are allowed 5 mins unloading time to remove your gear, then you have to find a parking place. Then you can return to load! The loading does not include talking, setting up equipment or going to the toilet!

We have those new PCSO who look after traffic in a couple of the towns, and also a private security firm which have a contract with the council to look after the parking!

I asked a traffic warden where I stand and he told me they ignore window cleaners as long as they know were they are and you dont take the pee ie parking outside home 7 days a week on doubles.

here in Brighton & Hove there is an old by-law that allows window cleaners to park on double yellow lines when working, which all the traffic wardens and local window cleaners know about.............check where you are, maybe their's a similar by-law.
