Get one of the supalite brushes from Gardinerpoles, cheap & cheerful and they just happen to be a very good brush.
They are Bentley brushes, and I hear that the likes os Asda and Tesco sell them.

Just a dirt cheap little sweeping brush...who'd have thought they'd turn out to make a top WFP brush :o

I suppose you could buy the brush for a couple of quid, get the jets and bits & pieces for a couple more quid and make the conversion yourself, but to buy the made up brush will only cost you £15 anyway, hardly worth the caddle of spending time converting one.

Having siad that, I had just parked the van and glanced out the window and saw a dumped brush head...."I recognise that shape!" methinks ::)
I pluck it out of the mud and see it is indeed a Bentley brush, perfect nick...(er...if a little dirty :-\)
It's been chucked because the screw part of the handle had snapped off inside the brush itself...
Anyways, I'll probably buy some jets and so on and convert it as yet another spare brush.

They are not really monofilament bristles, but once wet and in use, to all intends and purposes they are so.

Vikan have also got a new brush, not as light as the Bentley one, but it looks really good, it's square now and not rounded off, monofilament bristles too, so Ideal for WFP.
Just a little more expensive than the Bentley one, well, a fair bit more expensive, but it still isn't particulary expensive in real terms.

Does the Bentley have stiff bristles like a salmon brush or soft like ionics?
Anyone know?

The bristles on the Bentley brushes being used for WFP are nothing like as soft as the Ionic's one.
They are not as stiff as the Salmon (such as the ones that Peter Fogwill supplies) but the bristles are also longer.

I've been using mine constantly for over a month now and in use the bristles have just the right amount of 'splay', and so far have always 'sprang' straight back.

The bristles are also not so densely packed together as the Ionic's brush, the upside being I think that the water from the jets hits the glass cleanly, and because the bristles tend to stay straighter, it makes it easier to rinse on the glass (if thats your preferred method)
The downside is that on a very dirty window, because the bristles are more spaced out, it is easy to clean the glass and leave lines.
The Ionic's for instance splays out much more, and the density of the bristles will also mean that ALL of the glass is washed and scrubbed more effectively.

But conversely that density and floppiness can also mean that although the Ionic's brush is monofilament, it will probably hold more contaminants than the bentley :-\
But on balance, at least for myself, I prefer the Bentley brush, afterall, most windows are repeat cleans anyway....

I've got one of these and 2 spray jets from Cleantech (5mm I think) but need some advice putting it all together.

What are people here using between the small black pipe that carries the water and the jets?

me, i prefere the rectangular vikan (flocked) although you do have to clean the brisstles bit more regular. better water dispersment with this brush than the mono's.

I use a Bently monofilament on my downstairs pole. It is the stiffest brush I have used to date, you can hear the bristles rattling on the glass.
It does a perfect job, rinsing on or off the glass. It certainly gets to the parts that other brushes don't, it even digs out the green stuff from those tiny cracks around the beading that holds the glass in the frames.
You can put jets in yourself. I use plastic number plate bolts with a 2mm drill run through them. Drill two 5mm holes in the brush where you want the jets to go. then use a 6mm tap to thread the holes, screw the bolts in from the bristle side of the brush, job done. Depending on the thickness of the actual plastic, you may have to drill a bigger hole part way through, for the bolt head to fit into. Dai

Hi John,
Heres an over the top supply but you could go through the head as well. They are also available from good garden suppliers. Lever off the caps with pliers  and drill out if they are not big ehough.
