Pure Freedom 200GPD INTIAL FLUSH
« on: April 01, 2007, 04:44:41 pm »
Hi All

Now setting up my Freedom trolley system and wanna get everything correct.

Ive fitted the filter to the wall and about to flush it out for 2 hours as per the instructions. Ive disconnect the pipe to the membrane so its just the filter getting the flush and just need to know if this is all correct so far? Is it right that there is sooo much water waste on this initial flush?

Cheers bob

Hi Bod

I have a Pure Freedom RO.

Why have you disconnected the pipe from the filters to the membranes? You would only need to do this if you have a booster pump.

Ive just read the instructions again to be sure and what you do is just connect it up to the tap and run it for a couple of hours with the black tap NOT in the flow position. You only put the tap into the flow position to flush the system out every week or so for a few minutes.

Hi Brett I saw your reply when I posted mine  lol

I have a new Freedom trolley but I cant compare it to the old one because I never had one. Yes mate its very easy to use. It is light to lift especially with the handle folded down although no problem to lift even with it up.

yes you need to flush the 3 bottom filter first as they have a  chemical on them to protect them in transit just put the water tap on to the first3 filters WITHOUT CONNECTING THE RO if you was to connect them it would kill the ro off in no time   do this for about 2 hours then connect the 3 filters on to the ro then start making pure water then just see if the water is pure with your tds meter  then after about 2 hours check the water that is coming out the ro this should be about 3-7ish if this is this on your tds then reconnect the di then recheck the water out of the di this shoud read 000   ;D  then 2 or 3 times a week turn your flush tap on your ro for about 15 mins   change your 3 large filters about 6 months and the ro should last about 3 to 5 years  so get out and clean clean clean   hope this helps a little

You will find it wastes a shed load of water when it's making the pure water.
My waste water gushes out whilst the pure just trickles in
