my round consists of mostly residentual work, with a few shops and pubs etc., I thought about perhaps trying to pick up a contract/s. has anyone any tips on how to move on to commercial work, is it easy to find the contracts, is it the lowest price wins the work, is there a lot of competetion?
Or should I stick with my nice easy round.
I have me and 1 other person who works for me 3/4 days a week, and 1 van so have very little overheads. Any thoughts or advice if u tried the same would be appriciated.

yes mate thats not a problem. The thing about comercial work is that it is a good reliable payer, so you need to keep the job in 100% clean state or you will lose it. We all like shops and offices so the competition is tough, the only real way to win a good comercial job is to find a dirty one and promise that it will never be dirty again. You will soon lose it if you don't stick to your word.

Hi , Lawrence is right I have a lot of commercial work now but worked hard to get it.
Find the offices , shops,businesses with dirty windows and surrounds and go in and see them.
I picked a lot of mine up by stopping the van and going in to places.
Some you lose and they are not interested but some you get.
If you don,t try you don,t get and it,s only a few minutes of your time lost.
Stick with it as they are good jobs to have in poor weather as they always want doing.
