Van Setup for 2 WC's (WFP)
« on: March 06, 2007, 05:22:50 pm »
Hi Guys,

Im looking into employing some in the next month or so because Im having a canvassing company come up and get me a ruck load of new work, because most of my previous first cleans have been filthy im gonna fit a 1000L tank in the back of my van and I'll have to double up on hoses and stuff.

At the moment ive got an eco flow and a 100psi shurflo pump would it be best to fit another of each of these as well, I guess my second hose would only have to be 50m.

I was hoping to just get a backpack for the lad but ive been giving it a bit a thought and I'll just be a pain in the arse on the first cleans if anyone uses one how do you fill it from your holding tank???

I have a female hoselock connecter for connecting to my hosereel all i do is put the male end of a tap connecter in it to allow water flow,  turn ecoflow on full straight into backpack, takes a while to fill but easier than lifting barrels. I think you can split after your pump for a second hose but someone will be able to advise you better than me.

I have two man system.
Fitted two pumps/strainers/etc works fine with
2 x 100m microbore hosereels
I would not bother with the backpack IMO.

Running 2 independent systems is the best way to go. In the situation where 1 fails, you always have 1 to fall back on. By clever adapting on site you could temporarily use the 2 from 1 suppy.
Backpacks are ideal for certain circumstances but too difficult to work with for long periods of time as a 2 man team

Cheers for that guys,

Think im gonna have to agree and go for the 2 seperate systems at the moment I use a fixed metal hose reel in the van and it works great but I dont think 2 side by side would work as theres a swivel on it and I think it'll constantly catch on each other what are good quality reels?

But I think I'll still invest in a backpack cos there is a few jobs I have that one of these would make so much easier  ;D

Hi Trevor,

Thanks for the offer mate but im up in Warrington, Cheshire if you could post pictures I would appreciate it.

Ive currently got a Merc Sprinter but im gonna buy a newish Ford Transit in the next month which im pretty such both have 2.7t capacities so more than enough payload for the 1000L tank

Many Thanks
