I also find this a very interesting program, my understanding of its is like this.  You price up a full house and quote the customer for payments over a 12 months period, payments are collected by DD, Cc usually offer a half price clean to start with should they take up the plan and then revist 12 months later to complete the clean the customer has paid for over the 12 months, it seems many offer a Traffic lane Highlight after 6 months which is just a quick touch up of the main walkways and also an unlimited stain call out service.  It would seem a lot also leave a bottle of MS with the customer so then can remove some spots by themsleves saving the CC a call out.  All looks very good and i will be starting to pitch this very soon, just trying to get my head round how best to sell it.  What i particularly like about the idea is like Red said on another thread, you get paid even when times are slow or when you are sick or on holiday.  The only areas that im still a little concerned about are what to do if the customer cancels thier DD, let say you do them a Half Price introductory clean and collect 1 dd payment and then the customer cancels, do you then invoice customer for the rest of the 50% you knocked off minus the DD payment?.  How hard its it to collect payments by DD, do you need any type of merchant account?, do you have a "contract" for the customer to sign?

Sorry to answer some questions them pose more but this kind of thing could be very usefull as i like the idea of building a pipeline as you can predict a minumum cashflow and plan accordingly.

Getting paid when you are not working is a falasy, realistically you have done the work and are getting paid by credit free. Ok you are getting a bigger job out of it so it is swings and roundabouts.

The maths I was told were

example simple sums: £360 for cleaning and protecting a home

£180 payable after cleaning and then 12 monthly payments of £15.00, the sweetner is the highlight clean after 6 months.

It's up to you if you offer a free clean at the end, could be a good excuse to offer/sell  a continuation of the service.

Ah, is see, i always understood it as Half price clean at the front payable in full, then the installments were to pay for full priced clean at the end. but i suppose it depends how you look at it.  I take it you dont bother Shaun and if you dont bother then there must not be much money in it being a fellow Yorkashireman and all.  Anyway ill probably see you at the lane next year, sat through the Millers getting a 1-5 thumping yesterday that will see us in league 2 next year im sure while you lot are looking like staying up, bet its great to give the piggies some stick eh?

Another one out in the open! I do have a few maintenance plans in operation. It is nice to see the money going into your account every month, however its not really nice when you have to go and do those free interval cleans. Also when you go to do the bigger annual cleans and get nothing at the end of the job, it sort of doesnt feel very good, even though the instalments do go in every month. You also have to remember that if you are offering a FREE traffic lane clean at the 6 month point, and you have taken Half the full cost at the outset (When you first did the job and set up the plan) then at six months they have made 6 payments, so have paid the full price. This means that at the 12 month point, they have actually made 6 payments in advance. What you have to think about is, what if something happens an accident, business failure or whatever, and you cant do anymore cleaning. You will then have to refund that 6 months payments back to your client. One or two cleints shouldnt be a problem, but what if you had to refund one or two hundred clients. I have reduced the numbers I have on this plan and have not offered for it all for the last couple of years, following afew who when they decided they change their carpet instead of getting it cleaned again, cancelled the payments as soon as I had been out to do the last clean for them, thus in each case leaving me losing 5 months instalments.

the price into 12 payments by standing order

i don't think that taking half up front works as well, the point is easy terms
