anybody tried this from cleansmart?
is it worth the money as it seems alot advice would be most app thanks gentlemen,
ps anyone got one they want to sell?

these are good machines and make your porti clean look special, they open the pile and clean further into it, traffic lanes look brilliant, downside is that they are heavy, slower and take a bit of getting used to, no good if you are a cleaner on the move.

PS I'd recommend that you use a turbo drier with your clean, all you have to do is put it to one side of the room while you are cleaning and is speeds up the drying and makes you look professional (knowbody uses them if they are cheap) and your recommends WILL go up as you can say "professional cleaning and drying service" notice it's dryING not drIED

Not tried the rotovac but if you have just bought an Exel, why not get a Scubba Deluxe to go with it.  We use them all the time and the difference between using a scrubba and a standard wand is 10 fold

i agree with all posts,

i used to use a power-scrubb with my portable, it gave a much better clean than just a wand, simularly as Shaun says about the rotavac it takes longer to set up, put away, and is heavy, but if your on a good price for a job thats ok.

i still use the power-srcubb somtimes with the TM on the dirtest of carpets like pubs.

Rotovac ... Dont do it! Much cheaper ways of producing the same result with not much more effort. Who cleans carpets with a cup of coffee in their left hand anyway

does anyone have a link to the extracta scrubber and how is it operated and how is it better than the wand...

Have had the scrubba deluxe for about 3 years and i think is probably one of the best bits of kit from extracta, it cleans well because the brush flips back and forward thus cleaning both sides of the fibre and the sheer weight of the unit means it extracts really well and you seem to use half the water you use with a normal wand, so less filling up as well

The downside is i think that it is so heavy - I've had to really want to use it of late to warrant getting it out of the van and i wouldn't like to use it all day every day, but on really trashed carpets it does the business!

Have also used it with T/M and is very effective.

thanks...so you do not use a wand for the meat of the work...??
I take it the smaller scrubba is what you use on domestic work ?

Do you draw the scrubba towards you like the wand and then push forward for a dry vacuum pass?

i got an alltec one, the brushes move in a direction to move the scrubb back with you, so it assists you. it was £1,800 new, im not sure they still sell them, great bit of kit though.

So it only cleans one side of carpet pile

They do not sell them anymore.

Got my self a Ashbys one on Ebay did a great job then stopped. Did not seem to heavy  Was going to bid for Rotovac but it fetched considerably more than I was prepared to pay.


Took it for repair with my local electical repair man must phone see what problem was hopefully dodgy trip switch

use my rotovac all the time and have never regretted bying it from my mate john flynn before he gave up the job
well worth the money.
in fack sheffield Shaun and dave lee had it before me, but i'm his daddy now!
