Is this the same machine some of you guys are using to agitate pre-sprays?

This one is 1725rpm, is that right?

 

Is this the same one sold by Nick and Matt or is it different?

Should read 175rpm.
1725 would be a tad fast.

It's the same machine Dan, but what I found, was it's brush, which is a very narrow strip, is too aggressive and leaves a lot of cut pile which needs to be vacuumed, when dry, otherwise filters wllget clogged.

Only my opinion, of course..............there is a bigger Oreck, which could be useful for O/P work but don't think it's available in the UK.

Rob theres different pads and brushes available, according to Matt theres 3 different ones suitable for carpet depending on job and personal preference.

I think these are appearing about because they are an old model, which Oreck are trying to get rid off, it is red and has the on/off switch on the actual machine, . the latest ones ( which I first saw 4-5yrs ago) they are blue & the switch is on the handle.

perhaps this is why they are been offered cheap, they are years old. have the 'new' ones being sold by companies in the UK got the switch on the handle?

Mike, as i know you own one, what pads or brushes would you recommend i order?

I wanna use it to agitate in pre-sprays
and i wanna have a try at bonneting with it aswell

i use the orange hard brush (but it takes a lot of wearing in)

I don't use it for bonnet cleaning the pad supplied isn't very absorbent

you got it for a brilliant price, including the vat  they cost  £135 more on WOC

I was gonna buy one of Cleansmart in the morning at £300 plus the vat so im well chuffed at the price
can i not get other pads to fit it for bonneting then?

not seen the shampoo brush or stripey one.

I've used hand towels with the oreck , they look like propellers where the corner stick out but worked ok.

Dave Ingram has a neat trick, he has cut up a ribbed barrier mat into a circle  and uses that to agitate under the bonnet drive board

Red, try contacting Craftex, they sell better Pads (Activa) white with grey aggitation stripes, I agree with Mike the included pads are not very absorbant and are also too flat. I get far better results using the Craftex ones, think they are around £20 each.

Used for 1st time today and seems a half decent machine

Not that impresed with those activa pads they dont seem harsh enough to do much agitation

Depends really on the carpet type and condition.
Just as I use different chemicals I use different forms of aggitation also.  I use mainly a combination prespray of Blitz and ultrapac Renavate or Prespray Gold on more delicate fibres.
I find that pre bonnet aggitation using the activa pads to be beneficial for most jobs prior to extraction but not all the time, like Mike mentioned about using the orange brush, I use this and sometimes the less harsh black carpet brush.

I thought ultrapac didnt work aswell if mixed with other products

I think its coz its cationic or something like that
