dose anyone clean windows for the MOD  ARMY or AIR FORCE BASES

If so can you tell me how you got the contract and who you needed to speak to and what conditions you  needed to win the contracts???

i just started up doing windows and my hubby in forces .. i asked him and he said its all contracted out to major firms as obviously you got alot of security issues ... there is ony one taxi company allowed on the camp and you have to inform the guard room ...this may be different for other camps ... i dont know who you would have to approach icould ask hubby if you want ..... having said that if i was a sgt mjr and and privates were slacking id have em all cleaning windows ( evil laugh ) ha ha

Have experienced doing work for the MOD for a previous company.
Yes they normally go for major firms. Maybe you could find out names of those firms and become a preferred subbie, but... you wil still have to undergo a security clearance by the MOD and you will not be allowed on site until you have this. If you were to somehow pick up work directly with them. check out their payment methods as 4 years ago they were changing to a payment scheme called P2P designed for the MOD and would only accept tenders from people who were willing to join this scheme. The cost to who I worked for was £5K plus to install this system and then costs for having 2 people cleared with Whitehall etc for dealing with those payments. Not saying you aren't, but you have to be cleaner than clean to obtain these clearances. Saying that they are really good payers, usually on about 10 days from receipt of invoice, but to balance this up they don't want to pay good rates either and would drop you as soon as someone else came in with a better package.

A lot of MOD window cleaning gets included within general office cleaning tenders and these are almost always listed with the Official Journal of the European Journal (OJEU)

It costs about £500 per year to monitor the journal but it is where all the big public sector contracts get listed. As an example, this is one thats been listed today:

This is a very good question, because i was in the army for 4 years and was based in a total of 5 diffrent bases in total and not 1 of them had a window cleaner. good thinking ther could be a lot of money in that.

i am down here by southampton (very vauge) this is only my second army move with hubby .this time we are not behind the wire but the village is splitt by a main road into civvie and army .... im HOPEING i can have all these quarters to my self .... i am only working to suppliment our income so i dont need loads but if within a year i have ganed speed ,customers and time (ie kids start primary school) then i will take over the world ........mwaa ha ha
