anyone care to share any time saving daily internal office cleaning tips?i havent any to share so all tips would be helpful.

 I have a cleaner who puts the large elastic bands you get from the postman around the top of the waste paper bins holding the liner in place, as it is only paper that gets put in the bins the bags do not need changing everyday and having the band there allows her to empty the bin whilst keeping the liner in place.....it also ensures that the rubbish goes in the liner as against pushing the liner down into the bin with the rubbish

Introduce visual cleaning - if it's not dirty use the time cleaning something that is!

When emptying bins put the bin on the desk if the floor around that desk needs vacuuming and pull the chair away from the desk if the desk needs cleaning, you can see in an instant what needs doing.

Toilet cleaning - after you have cleaned lower the lid and sit - you can see the cubicle from the clients point of view not the cleaners - what else needs cleaning?

Come on you lot what are your 'tricks of the trade'

   I get mine to sit on the toilet to check, thats a good one 

   I got the contract at a marina it involves loads of showers and glass shower doors
 I`ve started getting that shower shine stuff, works a treat the glass doors stay looking nice for loads longer.

  Also when your cleaners are cleaning desks get them to clean the edge as well as the top, they usually don`t. If you wipe a cloth along the edge of a desk it usually comes away filthy.

If I got mine to sit on the seat, they would probably stay there reading a newspaper!!

i use visual cleaning too. tho i only have the one office contract, which is local to where i live so i do it. also as not all areas of the office get used whilst i am pootling around clearing out the bins (same trick as gleamservices without the elastic bands tho) i check the floors to see which bits need vac'ing or not, i also pick up dirty cups n plates on the bin emptying round 2..killing 3 birds with one stone

One of my tips would be to save money on the shine stuff for the shower screens is to spray and bathroom cleaner on the cloth rub is all over the screen with a clean cloth wipe off and buff up with a old tea towel or something like they come up like new and you dont leave any water marks either.

With my cleaning contract for the offices we do I get the cleaners to do everything above shoulder height on the first night, the second night they do all window sills and ledges, third night all skirting boards and bottoms of chairs etc and the other nights they just clean desk and hoover this way everything is covered in a week, seems to work for my company.

Its interesting to hear how other people spot dirt and makes interesting reading.

For Bannisters and skirting I use a soft hand brush.

It cuts through the dust sharpish and then you can either mop, vac or brush off the floor, depending on floor type.

I have used this in offices, EOT cleaning and Common ways.
