Question:-

When you do the downstairs after doing the tops do you use the same pole (on its side) or switch to a smaller one? If so how? Run back to the van/switch brush head to a smaller pole, or what?

I generally use a smaller pole....seems to make life a little easier for me.

I will generally use the same 18 foot predator. Unless there is some tight access I'll use the 3x4 extender for the whole house. On a very few houses I'll have to use both poles.

if there are 2 of use, the one with the longer pole cleans upstairs the one with the smaller pole cleans down stairs, if we work on two houses at once then we both use the same poles, no running back to the van, waste of time that adds up through the day

I use my old ungers with the hose up the outside and the detachable brush.

So I tuck a 2 ft pole in my belt and switch the brush head to the small pole.

This is what keeps me with my ungers really so that I'm not unnecessarily using my large pole for downstairs (or in tight spaces) and don't have to go back to the van.

Am I missing something? (Other than my usual few marbles)

we use 18ft poles mostly, they reach pretty much every window on 2 storey houses (even over conservatorys) it can be a little tight when in an alley but still works fine just need to make sure you don't whack any thing

I have 2 pole carriers on my trolley system.  One female connector on my hose reel,
and a male connector on each pole hose. Take seconds to unclick one and click on the other.

i use a 24ft carbon facelift & this will do 95% of my ups & downs, sometimes have to tilt the pole 90 degrees though but its so light its not a problem. the odd occasion a do have to use a small 4ft alloy pole for tight spaces.

I use a 24ft powerpole for nearly all my work upstairs.
And an omnipole minipole for downstairs.
I haved used my powerpole on ground floor but find it a lot easier using the minipole.

i use my 18ft pole up & down but find it makes my arms ache becouse of the angle & weight so am thinking of getting a 2nd smaller pole but like some on here dnt want to carry 2 poles or go back to the van,think iam gona have to splash out on lieght weight poles, any suggestions as i need 2 so no daft prices please,between 18& 24ft would do

4 x 5' for upstairs then disconnect hose and attach a 2 x 3' for downstairs.

I'm the same as Malc, I've the Unger poles and stick to them for the same reasons...they are just so versatile.
It depends on the height of the house though, often I only have 2 sections of the pole in use, so it is pretty light to use on the downstairs windows, if I have high work, I'll just pull out the thinest section and leave the others up agains a wall and use that on the downstairs windows.
There times when I'll have my 'diddy' pole (like Malc's) to hand and I'll just swap the brush assembly over.

The cheap Unger poles have their disadvantages, but they are really light, and if you have your 'feed' over the top, you only need use the sections you have to.

are these unger poles telescopic or like fishing rods(slot together) what are they made of? how much for about 20ft?where did u get yours? are the hoses inside or outside the poles?
