thought some of you may have been interested in a report on the omnivac as i have just bought one here are some of the problems encountered that you may want to ask before purchasing
1. Motor was faulty ( i suggest that you ask them to test the cleaner before purchasing) nothing more embarrasing than turning up at a job to find kit is not working)

2. Hose kinks really easily and i mean deep kinks that do not permit objects to pass down to cleaner you have to literally treat with kid gloves and lay all of the hose out and keep it kink free or the slightest kink will wreck the pipe.
( a design fault that needs serious attention)

3. If you purchase the 110 volt version as we did you need a 5 kva transformer (this is probably heavier than the cleaner to lift in and out of your van) and costs around £180 at machine mart we had to order ours and it took 4 days to arrive.

4. end of tube is very wobbly so it takes quite some skill to get it into the gutter.

5. the retaining clamp has not got locking nuts just screws so it can come free as we found on our second clean and you know how it goes once a screw drops out you can never find it again.

Just thought i would put my thoughts down as many have commented on the omnivac but its good to tell you all as it is. I think that these faults can be rectified but do some serious talking about that hose it really is unsuitable??

Have you cleaned any gutters that are tight up against the roof tiles as i would really like to know how it copes with them.

choice I have the lance 24ft lance from northern tools and was going to combine it with the omnivac , the omnivac cleaning the gutters and the lance giving a final rinse, however after reading your post I will review this idea

I have seen the vacs on other sites for about £500, so might put something together myself .I just thought that the omnivac was good value for money as you were getting the powerpole along with the system

looks like a little research is needed, but thanks for posting as you have saved a few of us going down the same route.Maybe omnipole will look at this post and sort you out , start holding your breath

I'm glad you put "start holding your breath" rather than "don't hold your breath".  They are the sort of company who do try to resolve stuff like this.

I enquired about the omnivac some months ago but after leaving my number several times without reply I bought the Upkeeper Gutter Vac which is awesome. The hose and pipe are 3" so no fear of kinks or blockages. The suction is about 8 x the omnivac. It's also petrol so can go anywhere without the need for a generator. Altogether it's a first class piece of kit which is far better than anything for sale in this country.

I paid around £2200 plus vat and shipping costs. I dont think you would clean at 50ft though.
