teething probs with new system, help?
« on: December 19, 2006, 09:36:18 pm »
Finally got fitted a 400 litre RO system. I live in a soft water area but my TDS out of my tap is reading 178, so decided to go for the Merlin RO. On my first fill tonight at 45 psi, which has been going approx 3 hours, the tank is only a third full. The water reading going into the tank is 002 is there any way of speeding this process up cos I don't fancy sitting here all night looking at the tank!

Thanks, Jason

Hi Jason,
I've a merlin too, but a pressure of 80 psi, takes about 2 hrs for me to fill 250 ltrs. I guess the fill time is down to your pressure, You could up the production with a booster pump, though that could be  quite an expense for one thats up to the job ( others maybe able to advise on something suitable) . Are you filtering to a tank in a van or into a static one? if latter how about fitting a float valve? or time how long it takes to fill and connect  one of those garden tap timer switches.
