Time to get a new brush for domestic work. Have been using an Ionics 3x6. May consider a 4 section if price and weight is correct! What do you use and would you recommend it? Can I ask that only operators reply and not those with a vested interest in any particular brand, I really would like as unbiased view as possible! Cheers!

Hi, I use a Salmon 16"  brush. It's the type with blue bristles like Peter fogwill sells for his autobrushes.

I like it as the bristles are slightly stiffer, so good scrubbing, and they also do not stick together so you don't get lots of grime meshed in with it, the dirt just falls out.

I would recommend a bigger brush rather than a small one as you clean the windows much quicker.

Ken, I take it you are looking to buy a new pole as opposed to a brush

Here are a few options.
Exel Universal Compact 4x5ft

Brodex Predator 4x6
Facelift 19ft (I think)

As for brushes
Vikan 10/16 or rectangle brush
Gaz 11/15 or swivel brush (highly recommend this one)
Autobrush (15 inch Salmon brush same as Gaz 15 but with an on/off mechanism)
Tucker Dual-trim

I would recommend Gardiners custom 15ft pole.
It's 3x5ft and i find this makes it much easier for ground floor work but still reaches first floor no bother.

Hi, I got my brush as part of Peter Fogwills autobrushes, but I don't like the autobrush concept so took that off. I have sourced the same kind of brush though from another window cleaner who sells them. His name is Gary Hollins.

I can get him to contact you if you like and let you know what selection he has.

You can use any sort of bxg standard floor brush.

Jeff is right, although you will find certain brushes much easier and more efficient to work with.

I have asked the brush question a thousand times,

i really think its down to personal choice...

as i think they all do the same job given the answers i got...

i need a brush with a screw on head.... with nice jet sprays and the .... "Y" and jets already attached....

a nice brush to work with thats all i ask.... but i am borrowing one at the moment...

i just wish i could walk into a shop and have a look at them...

instead of internet orders and hundreds of miles away.

Everyone has different applications and as individuals different ideas, as Lewis would say- "whatever floats your boat"
 I bought a dual trim copy and converted it to Unger alu . But I found that my much anticipated brush was too stiff for my domestic/commercial work, the bristles stood off the glass like a wire brush. You need a heavy pole to get them to splay onto the glass, I dont want heavy.  So I sold it.
Anyone tried the foam centre one ? it was developed for hot glass in hot climates ?
