Why dont you tell us Gary, I dont have enough time to do CC never mind anything else and if you are not busy after 12 years you should be asking yourself why.

Hi

It can be different reasons, people just starting, huge debts, bussiness is slack, etc, etc.

i personally have had a full time job in the past, as well as full time cleaning, and a full time family plus also trying to do an internet based business.

I am now part-time in my job. two nights a week in a casino (19 years experience)

Does this mean I'm crap?

Not for me no, it just means I have a little bit extra coming in and a bit of security for my family, which is more important to me that what people might think.

I also have access to a carpet fitter in case I come across carpets that have been trashed beyond cleaning, as my work is LA's this can happen, so I like to diversify.

I get the feeling on this part of the forum that some people are a little embarassed by admitting they have to work etc, if you are, don't be, why should you be.

If you can pay all your bills, keep your family and live a nice life just with carpet cleaning then more the power to you and well done, if not don't get embarrassed by it.

No one else knows my personal circumstances except me and I will do whatever it takes (legally) to survive and live my life, if that goes in the face of public acceptance...tough.

Regards

Perhaps its because some people would like to start a business that carries residual income, carpet cleaning is a good earner but you are trading time for money, in the area that Ilive there is a lot of competition and a fairly low head of population, I do restoration work because I enjoy it, and I pick jobs that I want to do because I'm not forced to take on accident repair work in order to pay the bills, but again, its trading time for money, with the mail order side of things I'm looking at customers who repeat their orders very quickly and there's very little work involved, just dispatching the goods as they are ordered, people can order 24 hours a day, there's nothing like getting up in the morning and seeing what you've earned whilst you were asleep  ;D  (although at the moment its all being ploughed back in  :().
I concentrate on giving my customers a good level of service whatever I'm doing and don't think the fact that I have 3 different work related roles affects the level of service, or the quality of work my customers get, admittedly though it can be hard to concentrate on 3 things at once, Andy

My other job goes bananas in January and clients tend to want late aft/evening appointments.  ;)

You can earn good money doing that.  Why don't you apply for a job as a test pilot at Slumberland ;)

Safe and profitable sleeping :)
