hide a hose

does anyone use hide a hose for a whip line??
would it restrict flow too much in 1, 1/2" whip

i made one up and used it for a few weeks, and there it is noticable drop but only 10 to 20 % ish ( thats a cal tech verifyed guess bythe way) , also I used a smooth bore vac hose to minimise vac loss.
Eventually sold it with a old machine on ebay so it's out there somewhere!
