Hi everyone,

What is the best and safest way to remove makeup from a carpet?

Hi Davep

Most cosmetics are solvent soluble. The solvent you use will depend on the carpet type. You could try one of the following from Prochem:

E840 Citrus Gel
B123 Solvall
A227 Solvex
B140 Dri Pro

I would try the Citrus Gel first

Take a look at the Prochem website www.prochem.co.uk they have a good stain removal guide which can be downloaded

Hi Dave,

I would use a small amount of white spirit on a towell.

For nail varnish use acetone.

Cheers

Why use the citrus gel, when white spirit will do a quicker and probably more thorough job? Best, Dave.

Ok off i pop to get some white spirit!  This is just a small mess on a new carpet, i guess its not worth using HWE afterwards?

Doug likes his white spirit  ;) So do I.
You can get odourless now, not sure if it`s as good, but I`m sure Doug will let us know if it`s not

You should always rinse a spotting agent. Even ones that dont need it. It may take a wee bit longer but saves maybe a return trip. Best, Dave.

Hi lads,

I went to clean this 'small' amount of makeup but it was everywhere.  She said it had been there for 6 weeks and she had rubbed Vanish inti part of it..

I used Citrus gel, as well as white spirit (same results with both) and it came off onto the towel to a certain extent.

What would you recommend to do next?  Prespray with some Stain pro (agitate?) then HWE with double clean?

Any ideas??    ???
