Squeaks may be joking about that....but I've done that and worse in my time

I'll be honest, if I was still on ladders there are windows where I would either be standing on the top rung to clean the window or climbing off the ladder to stand in the window sill to clean the window.
Squeaks will know what I mean actually.
The middle floor of Cas-Gwent Rog.
As Squeaks will tell you, on this account I had one lad working for me who was doing the place, he climbed big three tier for the 2nd floor, then because there was a lot of bend in the ladder, half way down he would climb off the ladder by stepping across to the wide sill of the first floor window

On one occasion, on a windy day (nowadays I'd never let anyone up a ladder on a windy day) he had stepped of fthe ladder, only for a gust of wind to take the ladder and blow it over (fully extended to its 33' height) acoss the middle of the road...it landed between two cars rather than on one of them

.....fortunately!
As David said...3 points of contact at all times!!
Though sadly many of us will ignore that stipulation.
