As I have mention previously, the prowler sounds very interesting. I would love to get hold of one in South Africa.

Can anyone tell me who manufactures the Prowler range and how I can get hold of them.

you would be better to order from the manufacturer in the USA rather than a dealer in the UK.

out of interest how is the carpet cleaning business in south Africa? is it as big as in the USA ?

is it dominated with truckmounts or portables?

Its the dealer in the USA that I am looking for. Can anyone help.

The market in SA is split into two groups. Johannesburg, where people occasionally look at there floor and Cape Town where people only drink beer.

In Johannesburg, there are a number of very large carpet cleaners that operate in excess of 10 TM's and turn over lots of money.

In Cape Town, where I am based, the market is dominated by retrenched individuals that have spent money on a SEMCA K353 with no training.

Cape Town and the surrounding suburbs is one of the fastest growing populations in the world so there is lots of potential.

I was the first to purchase a large TM in Capetown and that was only 8 months ago. The going was very tuff during the Winter months but is picking up nicely now that we are heading into summer.

Pricing is a problem (Exchange rate 1 pound to 13 rands) I charge R350.00 as a minimum charge (incl vat) and R9.70 per square meter. I am considered expensive. People don't understand the difference between a SEMCA K353 and a Prochem Everest. Having said this, I am getting a reputation and price is becoming less of an issue once people see the results

I am currently doing about 6 jobs per day, team af 4 people, dual wand at an average of R500.00 per job.

Hope this was informative

regards

Jeremy
