Paul,
I have a Steamway Side Kick, similar to the Blazer. Only things aprt from fuel blockage, I can think of is:- Fuel tank vent not opened, if portable tank possibly sited too low, waste tank cut off, dirty air filter (B&S engines very sensitive to dirty air filters).
Dave.

It could be one of the plugs fouled up, I've had that in the past with a brand new kohler engine?
All the best

Leak somewhere leading to Water/Moisture in the ignition system/HT leads etc?
Air intake blocked by something (A cloth for example) or air filter blocked?

No its a full tank of petrol, i have changed the plugs this afternoon even tho it has only 30 hours on ! cleaned the air filters as said by dave lee and it runs fine without the air filter but as soon as you put it back on it runs badly again. I have an engineer here on Tuesday fitting a pump out system which wasnt in stock when i purchased the machine so will hopefully get it fixed then ..
big thanks for everyones comment especially Dave lee

Paul
I have had a blazer xl for 13 months and the same problem happened to me the other week. It was coughing and spluttering until i took out the air cleaner element.
I cleaned both the foam part and the canister in petrol then washed it in water and it has been fine ever since. Obviously dry it out first.
The only ever problem i had was when the empty valve was slightly open allowing water vapour to come out of the exhaust pipe like a mobile sauna. I phoned up sam at Prochem but he couldn't help, but i soon noticed it.
The second problem was whe i forgot to empty the tank and both jobs involved a gradient and a slope causing the water to hit the cutout and stopping me starting up. I know somethings are obvious but we all learn by our mistakes and this cost me £75 as i couldn't do the one job.

Paul
Are Prochem coming to you?
Haven’t got the xl got the plus think more or less the same for future ref keep an eye on bypass manifold orifice dose not like to be blocked, some times wish I kept with the electrical type and upgraded to the tm type.

There's the answer. Probably worth carrying a few spare filters on the van as it's not wise to run an engine with unfiltered air.
