Super Charley Pads
« on: September 04, 2006, 08:49:49 pm »
I need some advice on using Charley Pads please.  I used them today on a large commercial job and the results were very good but I feel I must be doing something wrong.

I used a double bucket wringer with a solution of No 2 on one side and plain water on the other, after use I placed the dirty pad in the plain water, aggitated it by hand and wrung it out then placed it in the cleaning solution bucket ready to use again.  The problem is that the cleaning solution is getting very dirty quite quickly and although the carpet looks good I know that I am recycling the soil.  I have searched previous posts and it seems that I can expect to change the rinse water frequently but the cleaning solution should last all day, what am I doing wrong?  I have been using a 10:1 dilution to pre spray and 20:1 in the bucket is that ok?

Nobby you know the people you bought them from, they have a forum why not ask there, then you'll get help straight from the horses mouth.

Mike, I didn't know about the forum, I'll find it and check it out, thanks.

Steve, Therma Dry is great, my first choice for nearly all work but I made the mistake of running out of  Catalyst at the worst possible time.  I've had the Charley Pads for ages and never seriously used them, today I had no choice as the job calls for some form of bonneting rather than HWE. I was pleasantly surprised with the results but of course it lacks the deodorisers, protection and quick drying.  (Catalyst being delivered tomorrow!)

Charming!

No really, I've not kept up with this or any other forum for ages and to be honest I've no interest in a Solutions Forum......until now!

I did a Google search and found Clean Talk but it's not responding to my search for Charley Pads/Charlie Pads/Charley/Charlie or anything related to the subject. I'll try again when it's feeling better.

Why is it so unlikely that there's somebody out here in carpet cleaning land that's never heard of this forum?

Some comments and contributors on this forum were getting a bit silly some time ago and rather than get caught up in the nonsense I kept away, until now.

I object strongly to members saying this Forum is getting silly.

Doug and I spend many  hours trying to keep this Forum flowing.

Im sur if you do a search on this Forum you will find loads of information on Charley Pads. You need to go back 18 months

Im sure if you phone Solutions they will help you with your problem.

That is what suppliers are for. Same as I phone Prochem Alltec or Ashbys if I have a problem using their products.

I have removed three postings from this thread.

Ian I apologies for my earlier posts, it was an attempt to use humour to put across my point, which was exactly what you have said in your post,

i can never understand why people ask these questions unless they have ulterior motives, and it doesnt help stop all the conspiracy theories that 'charlie pads' is top of all 3 forums at the same time ::) ::)

Your search was fruitless because you got the spelling wrong :(

Safe and happy cleaning :)

No ulterior motive. No conspiracy,  I simply don't want to deal with the company that supplied the pads. I asked a simple question in total sincerity as I thought I would get help from people who use the system every day (I thought that was the purpose of this forum).

Thanks everybody for your helpful and constructive comments, I promise not to bother you again.

Ian I'm sorry if you have been offended, the moderators job is not one that I could do so I would not dream of critisising your work, we have different interpretations of what's silly.
