E Bay CC Machine Fraudster - Beware !
« on: August 16, 2006, 04:45:14 pm »
A mate of mine bid on a Rhino carpet cleaning machine yesterday. He didn’t win it. Today he got an email offering it to him for the bid that he made( £820 - its brand new !) He was going to go for it, until he asked me, and I realised straight away that it was a fraudulent email.
So if you bid on the new Rhino, and have now had a "second chance offer ". DONT SEND ANY MONEY !

THIS IS THE MESSAGE BELOW.

If it is the same machine that I bid on I think it finished at about £1100.
The item is advertised by Masterclean, and we all know it is Mr Purcell so should be no problems there. :)
I don't know anything about a second chance offer so it does look highly suspect especially with an email address like that, thanks for the warning.
Have you reported this to Ebay for them to check it out?
John

This has happened to me 3 times now, you can tell its not real by the broken English, as well as the fact that the email is sent to your private inbox but not in your Ebay mail box.

I buy and sell quite a few cars and automotive parts on ebay and receive emails similar to this on almost a daily basis, the other big one on there is the foreign purchaser who wants you to export goods, they send you out a cheque for much more than the item, when you contact them they tell you not to worry, bank the cheque and write them a cheque and return it for the difference  ::) , the idea being that you send them the payment for the difference before the bank informs you that their payment was a dud, muppets the lot of them.

Just out of interest did you know that the "419" advance fee fraud is one of, if not the biggest earner in Nigeria, netting an estimated $4 billion a year, mainly from the U.S, Canada and the U.K
