BONE-DRY Organic Carpet Cleaning
« on: August 12, 2006, 05:45:07 pm »
Anyone heard about this latest franchise ?

Just picked up my local paper and theres a big spread on Bone-Dry Organic carpet cleaning.
After slagging off the hot water extraction method
( inconvenient and ineffective ), they go on to say how brilliant Bone-Dry is.
"We apply our unique organic sponge product over the carpet and work it through letting it absorb the grease and dirt and then we vacuum it up. The carpet is left spotlessly clean "
It looks a bit like a hard sell...they come to your house not once but twice then give you the quote.
Maybe you are a Bone-Dry francisee and can inform us better.

Should this be cause for concern fellow carpet cleaners ?

Public know little about Carpet Cleaning, therefore will believe what they read.

Once tried it they maybe disapointed maynever use a carpet cleaner again.

They Can afford to spend on Advertising at present so while this is happening will cause a problem.

Also public may be aware of metod   through advert  so need to sell your method

Just watched the Video. Must be good The Guy in white shirt who has just started obviously does not need to spend time marketing.  He can go and play golf when he wants.

I had the host system and to be honest customers do like the idea of dry carpets. But it has it limitations really dirty carpets were a no no hwe was always advised. They would always pay more too for this service no hestitations.

I did a little survey asking whether they wanted them wet or dry cleaned 85% requested dry clean over the xmas period one year my hwe machine was only used 4 times in 2 months.Still get customers requesting the dry clean 4 years on.

Steve,

Do you still offer dry cleaning? If not is there a reason you gave it up? Hope you don't mind the questions, but 85% seems alot for a more straightforward system than HWE.

i live in a smallish town and a 'dry cleaner' set up with advts in every mag/paper going, he had no other system as a back up, i'm not crowing but he's not around now and i get work from people who say what a terrible clean it was.

I still use the system if asked but don't push it as much.Obviously in winter the benefit of having dry carpets straight away appeals to a lot of people plus I pushed it alot more than the wet clean. The problem was when the carpet was really dirty the dry system just did not cut the mustard.

ps: also I was using my toyota rav and could not carry both systems so it was which ever one I was carrying at the time which always seemed to be the host system.

Steve,

 Thanks for the reply  :)

I've tried  several times to get opinions and techniques about dry cleaning and even though there's a few who use this method nobody wants to give any input.

Maybe it's a case of the dry guys are shy   :)
