varistream problems (i think)

i have just got a varistream and need your help.
when i got it fitted in it said that when i stopped the water on the pole it would stop the pump, but when i do this the pump keeps stopping and starting.
is it suppose to do this?

Yes don't worry mine does that too.

It won't let water through but you will hear a little noise every few seconds like the pump Is trying to start.

Don't wory.

Because the Varistream is not an actual pressure switch, it has to check itself whether the outlet has been opened and the presure released. It does this by starting the pump for a fraction of a second and determining the load on the motor. It is designed to do this and it will continue as long as the outlet is closed off.

Hi

Its difficult to say as there are so many variables. I would start with `G`and work upwards one segment at a time until the pump shuts off as you want it to. If using the microbore increases your system pressure to nearly 100psi then the pump will cycle when you turn it on (turn on& off quickly). Increase the varistream setting until the pump runs normally and it should then also shut off correctly when you dead end the outlet.
