I've mentioned in the past that I've been bitten 8 times in 21 yrs window cleaning, always small dogs. I must be incredibly unlucky. Still love big dogs but now very wary, no time for yappy footshaggers at all, don't want them anywhere near me.
I would say you are lucky not to have been bitten by a big dog.

Medium to larger size dogs generally have powerful jaws. I was bitten once by a labrador and you can really feel the power of the jaws when it bites. I was lucky I quickly  got the dog to back off and no serious harm done.

If a dog bites me I'll be reporting it & it'll hopefully be put down. It's not acceptable. End of.

Ive dumped loads of houses that have dogs. I wont go in back gardens with any dog knowingly.

I used to clean a house with 2 rotties. You could seen them in the front room when cleaning the front which I always did first. Woman was in there with them.

One day I did the front, she saw me, dogs in front room. I went round back. I came face to face with one snarling at me, I lowered my slx in defence, it came forward i backed up with the brush pointed towards it. Fumble for the gate behind me then went for it. The thing launched at me and just made it Indiana Jones style from the snapping of its frothing jaws.

Heart rate was through the roof never went back there

The vast majority of dogs are fine, the chances of getting a real bite are very, very slim. By a real bite , I mean one that your going to the hospital to get treatment.

I go into back gardens all the time with dogs, infact, if it's a new one and I see a dog out the back il actively move faster to try get to it incase they shout it in.  I buy dog treats for to give to them.

I absolutely love dogs though.  I obviously wouldn't walk into a garden if I thought it was going to bite me, I've had dogs all my life though. And although I'm not dr dolittle, I kinda know if it's going to be safe or not for me to go into the garden by the dogs  behaviour.  Theres a difference in even the way a dog barks when its going to be aggressive with you.

I've never been bitten yet, and I've walked in gates where there's been a dog barking at the other side ot it.

Even dogs where they say that they won't come up to me if I start doing there windows. I end up getting them over and they say it's strange as there dogs not usually that good with strangers.

Of of my family members said I must stink or something and that's why they come over.

I'm one of they weirdos who likes dogs more than I like people.

I don't particularly like dogs and I wouldn't trust one not to bite me they are animals. Ive had customers want to introduce me to their dog lol why I don't want to stroke your dog thanks get it out of my way.

1 of 2 things is going to happen if im attacked, bitten or feel threatened by a dog . Im getting hurt or it's getting hurt. Neither is going to make the customer very happy.

I don't risk it, I just don't go in and I don't care if they are  just the little yappy things they are often more aggressive.

I turned up to clean one last week and the dog was out, knocked the door no answer ok front only then.

Dogs don't just go around biting people for fun.  When they do bite, there's usually several warning signs by the dog before that, which the person has either not picked up on or ignored them.

I used to do a woman with a German sheperd, she thought it would be a good idea for a first dog.  The dog used to be mental barking at me at the gate, I told her to go inside and leave the dog out.  It's not going to bite me, although barking, it wasn't an aggressive bark.  She wasn't confident the dog wouldn't bite me.  I told her if even 5% of me thought that dog was going to bite me i wouldn't be going in.

As soon as I opened the gate it ran up barking then stopped when it noticed I wasn't moving back the way. Then when I went forward it ran away and wouldn't come near me.  Ended up taking a few times.but eventually the dog didn't even bark anymore and started coming to me while I was there.

If you think a dogs aggressive and it's coning for you, instead of trying to run, when it gets close, in a stern voice point and say sit. Every dog knows that command and you'd be suprised at how many dogs will listen to to you when saying it.

In my case the owner was returning from walking the dogs onto her property (set in very large grounds), the dogs were off lead, I just stood still as the dogs ran upto me and the Labrador jumped and grabbed my forearm in its jaws. I could feel the pressure of the bite increasing and I just got very angry with dog and shouted very aggressively at it, which made it back down.

If I had remained passive my injury (which was mild) would have been a lot worse. It was surreal because I could really feel great power in the dog's jaws and it was impressive in a sense.

If I had been attacked by an XL Bully, no way would I have got it to back off and I might be dead. Some dog breeds are generally more aggressive and some dogs just have a more aggressive temperament. The dog that bit me was later put down due to another incident it was involved in.

I am a person who likes dogs.
