Route planning software
« on: August 18, 2025, 06:03:20 pm »
Does it exist to plan the daily round?

My Dad used to do it but he died last week.

I've been doing it but I'm making a few mistakes.

I use Aworka but it doesn't have that functionality as far as Im aware.

Cheers

I'm so sorry to here that your father passed away, Jay; please accept my sincerest condolences.

As to Route Planning Software I have no advice to offer but I am sure others on here will.
It's a game of three halves!

First day back to work today. Funny enough I really enjoyed it. Great thing about this job is the early finishes, so straight round to Mum's after,

Hiya Jay, sorry to hear your bad news and loss.

Yes its possible to do it easily. Rather than me bombard you with questions i'll make a few assumptions and go from there :

I use Aworka too, and i put the jobs in round order, so in effect the jobs i see on my screen in the morning, then thats how i do them, one after the other. So when you say you use Aworka, and it doesn't have that functionality it sort of does... but it relies on you to put them in the correct order...........

When i enter a new job there is a facility to put it after a certain job so i get it in the right order. Lets guess that for whatever reason that hasn't happened...........

You've obviously been cleaning a while, so i'd assume you know your own stuff. Its the stuff your Dad previously organised thats left you making mistakes ?

"Route Planning Software" is readily available for free, Google maps does it..... you put in your stops, assuming you're doing it from Home and it will take you from one stop to the next and the next and so on.... you can share the route, save it , etc..... whatever. But its just ROUTE PLANNING, it plans out the route you put in.

What you are after is ROUTE OPTIMIZATION. Seems like a play on words, but its a big difference.

Google maps doesn't offer this.   https://www.mapquest.co.uk     However does. Without me doing a double check you get about 26 stops that you can optimize as a free user without registering etc... and it works for all the world like Google maps, as we know it. Pop your stops in, it will look something like this :

Just pay attention to where it says ........re order stops for the most optimized route. And that will do it for you. Assuming you get that far and do it , then take care to alter the order of the jobs on Aworka so they all match up with that.

I hope that makes sense, if it doesn't then shout back.

I do know how to put it in the right order but just getting 2/3 wrong a day. Was out today and realised while driving so it didn't delay me but I'll check out map quest.
