Beards / facial hair - how many of you got it?
« on: January 28, 2020, 11:00:42 pm »
As above. Beards are recently get popular in many different trades and for some old fashioned custies  means something bad. How many of you got it? Any experiences?

I wouldnt say bad, but the old fashion view is more to do with goatees and the rebellion years of the 60's / 70's.   I think it was the same in the work place, that staff had to be clean shaven etc but as you say, it has become more relaxed and perhaps fashionable once again to do so. Mostly thanks to TV and films shaping our acceptance of them.
However, I assume this is only cultural though and pertaining to the english.

I've tried on & off with a goatee over many years, as my facial hair (only before idiots pass comments) /beard hair used to grow black, blonde and ginger. I was born blonde, now its mousey blonde/dark blonde, my hair product darkens it somewhat.
But now the goatee is mostly white n ginger ish lol.

So ive had mine about 6 months or so now and a handful of custies who are much older than me and have been with me for many years, have passed favourable comments.   Others dont care or havent expressed any opinions either way. New customers, again dont care and the others I dont see anyway, so it doesnt matter.

I know a lad who can’t grow much of a beard, just stubble, bit his mrs was desperate for home to have a full beard.

He’s just returned from a £2.5k 3 day trip to Turkey to have a full beard transplant, really. 😂

They’ve transplanted 4500 hair follicles from the back and side of his head into his beard area giving him a full beard.

The procedure took 14 hours from start to finish and was apparently unbelievably painful. Sad times we live in. 😂

It's been a long time since I've not had  facial hair.

I first grew a beard/stubble/goatee when I was about 21, I'm 38 now and haven't been clean shaven since apart from once or twice when I tried it and hated it.

Probably saved a fortune on razors over the years.

trust you to think of money saving!..proper skinflint! ;D

i used to have a goatee years ago but prefer to be clean shaven or a day or two of stubble these days......most men look ridiculous with beards IMO esp when they grow them big...it also makes you look years older than your actual age
price higher/work harder!

This is a pic of that big Irish window cleaner who keeps encroaching on my territory. He is overly proud of his beardy.

They recently did tests and found that there was more or just as much bacteria in a beard than there was in your poo.

I used to be clean shaven, then one day I was having some 'fun' with the missus!

She said 'I look great with a beard'!...and the rest is history  ;D

Ha funny you mention that.

In the last 15 years I think I've only been to a barbers maybe 6 times.

I've always trimmed my beard and shaved my head myself as long as I can remember

It's only the last year or so when I've started to go thin on top I've grown my hair to try and cover it up lol.

I found a barbers for £7 then next time I went it was under new owner ship and cost me £12! Think I need to find a new one.  :D

However it's fell a tree, not fall a tree.
