Form an orderly queue
« on: July 25, 2018, 05:30:01 am »

you popped a leaflet through my door today saying you clean my neighbours windows in Didcot.
I`m looking for an early morning or later clean as I have dogs that will be distressed if there are people around the house.
Do you do later/afternoon visits - and do you do you reach and clean ?
Really looking for upstairs windows only - I have 6 upstairs windows.  I live in Park Road, Didcot.
Thanks

Had an enquiry similar to this last week. Ticked all the boxes of ‘run a mile’.

Mid terraced house ✖️
Parking difficulties front and back ✖️
Last cleaner has disappeared ✖️
Can only be cleaned in the afternoon ✖️
Call back to collect ✖️
Sash windows so wfp not acceptable ✖️
Custy sounds like a complete nutjob ✖️

Blocked!

I don't see the problem.  Just a quick polite reply thanking them for the enquiry, stating that you only do complete houses and working to such time restrictions would be too difficult to schedule.

:)  No problem with politely declining, of course.
I've turned down a couple of jobs like that in recent weeks.  One of them tried to persuade me to work to their schedule.  It's unclear which part of the phrase 'no thank you' was causing a comprehension problem.

It may sound strange but a few of my best & most loyal customers started out like this. They have recomended me to their friends/family and given me decent Christmas tips etc... Once you set out the ground rules and they begin to trust you they could just turn out to be OK.

Having said that now that I am established & am not looking for more work I would probably just politely decline.

Politely decline yes. I’d also tell them some of the reasons why & that it’s too restricting otherwise these type of customers keep cropping up. They never learn why.

I had a text this morning asking if I can call on a Tuesday or Friday, I clean both neighbours and others on the Rd so I know she’s probably been given my details From them, I just replied back I’m full and can’t take any more work on at moment!
I’m not doing certain days or times anymore, done that in the past and its a pain in the arse if your round says your somewhere else that day and you need to make a trip out your way.
I did decide last week I’m taking nothing else on for now anyway so I wasn’t lying ;D
