Thinking of dropping it
« on: December 15, 2017, 12:06:57 pm »
After 15 years nearly of trading under my StockClean brand name i am thinking of completely ditching the brand name all together.

There are so many window cleaners now with xxx and clean or cleaning on the van and is difficult to stand out.

I am meeting an artist later to completely revamp my brand look. I thinking of taking the Bramar business name directly to the window cleaning business as upto now its been bramar Ltd trading as stockclean

As i will be getting an additional van next year and be expanding the business itd probably a good time to revamp.

Whats your opinions?

I think its a great idea especially as you are looking to expand, all new graphic, web sites and logoed workwear etc nice change for the new venture..

but whats bramar all about? wheres that name come from? its a horrible name for a window cleaning business imo (no offence)

would you not have the same problem ? Bramar Cleaning ??

i think the area your cleaning in is always a good start "pressure washing Norfolk" but it may restrict you if your looking for work further afield

maybe something more off the wall ?     "Droplets"  or "splat busters"

Oddbods has worked well for me especially the early days people remember ( tho some incorrectly such as odds and s*ds ) but they always get the right phone number,   i do from time to time wonder if a more formal name would have been better for large corporate clients but we still get them as well so after 9 years it will stay the same.

2 larger companies who operate around here are

Maple leaf and
Monthind

so Bramar isn't that bad after all !  ;D

Plenty of room for other acronyms:

de Mar sounds a bit posh - possibly a good one for the area you work :) )

Not being funny, but do you think your customer's will care? You've been going for years and people will recognise your vans. Stay as you are. Don't overthink it. Focus on getting customers not "branding".

kind of agree but also changing logo, websites etc can give you that buzz/ fresh approach to want to move things forward.

It seems to be to be a diversion from moving forward as it’s easier. Moving forward means growing revenue. A new logo ain’t gonna help.

After 13 yrs of being self employed as "Nathans window cleaning services" I switched to NKservices.
Its easier and shorter to say, which helps on embroidery costs lol! But it also says more than just a window cleaning  service.
I changed the name at the same time as I up scaled to WFP with a van and official website as well.
Am i glad of the rebrand?   Yes I am
Any draw backs?    My rounds thankfully are well established and so it didnt really apply to where i was but more for advancing into new areas.. Which was a good job really, as it confused some of my older aged customers and lol even my competitors   ;D   some gave me dirty looks either because they were jealous of the wfp (which I think some are) but I even had one or two come up to speak to me to say its their patch. Untill they got close enough to see me and realised I just went from trad to wfp and that if anything they were on my patch haha.
So overall;   the new equipment and rebrand did actually help my business alot
