Before I buy
« on: June 13, 2017, 07:03:50 am »
Sorry I know the fixed hose reel topic has been done to death, but can anyone recommend a hose guide for the flat bed of a van  which works and is fit for purpose

I was thinking of buying the hose-guide Cox Brand from Gardiners

https://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/h/o/hose_roller_guide_square_800.jpg

And pairing it with one of these

http://purefreedom.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/product_h_o_hose_and_reel_gr_1.jpg

There would be two side by side for a two man set up in a medium size Transit van I will be getting it fitted professionally so any holes in the floor of the van are properly water proofed after cutting and the hose reels rigged up for quick release so they can be taken out of the van when needed.

Never used the hose guides before so really looking for opinions on how well they work for trailing out hose and putting it back on the reels quickly and without snags and tangles, are there any better hose guides that I should consider over the ones in the link before I start ordering.

P.S dont want to upgrade to the more expensive Cox reels

So what are the best roller guides  on the market for our use at the moment?

Can anyone recommend one that's been tried and tested and fit for purpose

Hi Marc. Next time I see you working I will come and take a look at how you've got it set up. I want my hose to go through the bed of the van so I can close all doors and lock the van and also keep the hose flat on the floor so there is no trip hazard

That is the only problem mate, I can't lock the back door but it's never been a problem for me. If you're in the area give me a call.

Just pull out enough hose for the job, walk back to van, close doors on hose and lock van. Simples.
We look at them, they look through them.

Rollers on floor
Hose coming through the van floor
Big Time saver, no walking back and to from the van
Lock the doors without trapping your microbore in van doors
Works for me
I love working efficiently and making the job as easy as possible
