drive that won't dry out
« on: June 10, 2006, 10:39:50 am »
hi all
cleaned this drive on monday, five days of sunshine, still wet under the carport. i did this drive 18 months ago ,no problem, so the only difference this year is that i treated the area under the carport and under window sills with an acid wash to clear some efflorescence. it looks as if when she parks the car on it the weight of the vehicle is pushing up water through the cracks. i am unable to resand that area and this year she wants the whole thing sealed.

anyone come across similar problem?

Ged,

It could be a number things.

If its coming from the ground, it could be a leaky underground fresh water pipe coming into the property.

Or a spill from the toilet overflow pipe/guttering and or waste down pipes or blocked drain.

Has the customer been cleaning the car on it?

Advise the customer you will not seal it again unless its dry or get them to sign a disclaimer omiting you of responsibility if you go ahead.
