Just last night I had to visit some payment stragglers. Both new customers. Checked they were happy with the service 1st though.

Went to collect the payment and explained that I must get the payment promptly in future.

Both said sorry I don't have any cash on me at the moment can you come back.

No need I said I can take your payment by credit/debit card.  And they both were very happy about that, I also sent them a email receipt via the app and said that they need to set up a direct debit via go Cardless which has also been sent via the email address that was given.

The overall impression was very positive and professional. In fact when I handed the payment terminal to one of the customers the teenage daughter behind her was like wow mum look at that it's so cool.

It was 8pm I collected the money via card and withdrew the funds to my business account 10mins after and it was there immediately in my business account.
 8)
So you went and collected AND paid Paypal fees.  :-X

Yep like I said these were new customers.

£10 cost me 28pence in fees. I think that's pretty good considering I don't need to go to the bank and pay it in, and it's in my business account immediately even after business hours.
54p I think. 20p + 3.4%.

Plus whatever you pay for the terminal.

No it's not. If you look at the original post and use those ping pong ball type things in your head what are called your eyes.

You will see the fees are less than standard PayPal. And it's between 1 and 3 percent of the price depending on the type of card you process.

Read the original post first .

Standard PayPal for £10 = (10÷100x3.4+0.20) 0.54p

The one I am on.......
PayPal Here for £10=
(10÷100x2.8 ) 0.28p
Have you got a link to these fees?

I don't see any huge advantage (for me) over them paying on line, paying cash or cheque really.

When I have about a minimum £300 of cash and cheques to pay in I go to the bank (which is only a mile and a half away).

Cheques are "withering on the vine" naturally. If I have little cash to pay in  I go to the bank about once a month to pay them in to my business account. Usually I pay in any cash once a fortnight and any cheques at the same time.

Most of my customers pay on line now.
It's a game of three halves!

Just had a look at my paying in book at the last quarter's payments.

Feb/April 2014      125 cheques
Feb/April 2015      93 cheques
Feb/April 2016      79 cheques

Feb/April 2017      66 cheques - of whom  7 have started to pay on line, one had died and one has moved.

It's a game of three halves!

It's all swings and roundabouts.

What I like about PayPal Here is that it just gives you that edge over the competition.

Also I have found it great for those situations when someone sees me working  and just asks me to quickly do thiers too, being able to take credit  cards is easier as my min one off charge is £50 and they arnt put off by trying to find notes, and if they haven't got the cash they can use thier debit card, and if their really brassic the credit card..

Now the funds appear in my bank account  instantly. It's well worth it.

That says what you paid, it wasn't a link to the Paypal fee structure which was what I asked for. Obviously a different structure for this service. In my opinion still too expensive if you implement it widely. For £10,000 t/o it's £275 a month compared to £100 for Gocardless.

Well if your turning over £10k a month (well done) and your worried about a small £275 cost your either not making any profit on that turnover or somehow you have your figures confused.

Of course though  I'm probably  missing something here..
