Flat sided poles?
« on: May 04, 2017, 06:26:23 pm »
Did i dream this or did i really recently see a pole with a flat side which would do away with spinning poles and thus cut down on wear?

Although I've never heard about anything like that, it's a fantastic idea.

ionics once did a yellow fibreglass hexagon/pentagon (can't rightly remember) pole many moons ago. Think it was ionics anyway, as i had one.

Never found spinning poles a problem since Gardiners brought out their Smart clamp.

I never found spinning poles a problem even before the smart clamp, still have my old well used/worn Gardiner CLX with original clamps sitting in the garage and they work perfectly.

Great idea, but would it not be difficult to hold, unless the base section was round.

I reckon the curves would wear quicker and it would be worse in side winds with having a flatter side
I'm so lazy I'm getting tired of it !
