When the red mist sets in.
« on: May 02, 2017, 09:02:58 pm »
Just had a "customer " calling me a liar when i asked for the 3 cleans she owes me!

I have been txting the same phone number we spoke on today the night before each clean and leaving slips after each clean in the letterbox. She reckons shes had no txts and "maybe the dog ate the slips" at first, then it turned into youve been cleaning someone elses house not mine which is a realy silly bloody excuse as she was in on first clean and payed me at the door.

Next im a straight out liar and havent been there at all, she knows this because a bird poo'd on the window on the 31st of march and it was there till early april WTF who notes on the calender when a bird drops 1 on the window unless its diamond encrusted.

I told her i still have the txt ive sent her on my phone, half hour later she replies i have rang my phone company and there is no log of you sending me txt. What a load of b******s its the same phone number shes texting me on, you cant say the dog ate the txt messages aswell.

I put on the old" i'll small claims yer" and confidently assured ive done it many times and always win(b******s too)  a while later she replied as a gesture of "goodwill" i'll pay but i dont agree with it???

GTF you low down scum(i thought) i told her to keep the money! Thankyou she replied.

She can use to pay off some of her other debts, shes the stereotypical leech. Good riddens.

So I have just put on my rambo costume with customary huge knife, loaded my guns 3 of them.
Put the war paint on my face and entered the garage fired up the bomb laden tank..... as im about to go round and blow up the whole street...........and the wifes shouted "tea's ready".

Mission aborted! Probably best.

Glad i'm not the only one this happens too  ;D  I swear some customers will literally make up anything to get out of paying you or acknowledging the work you have done.  Some absolute nutters out there.  I've started to learn that if i let these customers get to me, it gets my anxiety bad and it's on my mind for most of the day, so now if i get people like that messing me about, i just cross them off and write the debt off.  If i get paid fine, if not who cares, aint wasting more time and energy chasing debts and getting proper angry and anxious about it.  Had a few this year too, most be something in the air in North Wales i reckon Lol.

It boils my blood when ones try it on or hear about it. Because most of the time these people win and for some they actually make it a sport. Thats the bit the i hate, more so because im that busy with my family after work etc that i havent the time to give it the needed attention and during the day i cant be wasting time banging on doors and threatening action against them regardless of the amount they owe!!!
So now i limit that from happening, i will only allow a person to go 2 cleans in debt and will chase money up.
If its a one off clean which i rarely do i charge accordingly and get them to pay before i start.

Fumny you posted this bevause I've got one of these scum bags at the minute boiling my p.

Its only one clean but still I want to hurt her lol

Text her the other day as windows due this week but haven't received payment for last month.

I paid you on the 3rd April. Was her reply. Yes you did but that was for march I cleaned them again on the 7th April.

They were not cleaned on the 7th April I. Know for a fact because I was in all day she says.

Yes you were in  because you bloody answered the door and point out some bird poope that I kindly removed form your conny roof. It was definitely 100% the 7th of April as in text your on the 6th to say I'd be round. Do you remember now?

No response for 2 days and counting...always was a late payer and a pain in the arse so I should have seen it coming.

Thought of all sorts of things from sending poop in an envelope to popping her paddling pool.  :D

Had one recently., a first clean/one off.

She had messaged me to clean the windows and power wash her path. I gave her a price and, as I don't do power washing, passed her number to a friend of mine who does.

After a couple of reschedules, I did the windows. Went back for money and got told to go back on a specific evening, which I did a couple of times, by which time I realized I had been taken. My friend got sone of his money, but not what had been agreed.

I just put it on the back burner. As far as I am concerned, I haven't written the debt off and will remind her if she ever contacts me again (which I find people do when they think I have forgotten that they owe me).

Some people have no shame.

I've had a few go funny with me after many years of being great customers. It is sad what age can do to the mind.
Some have just become incompetent and lose all concept of needing to pay for a service. Had one like this last week. Quite friendly but just totally unaware of the idea he had to pay. Got the poor chap quite confused when I tried to explain it. So just had to let it go. Others have suddenly started to accuse me of being a cheat after twenty or more years of faithful service.

I had a customer recently cancel. She was a good customer always paid on time been doing her windows for 14 years almost.

Recently on the last few cleans she was very abrupt with me and quite rude. And started paying really late, and by cheque not BACS.

I asked her if she could kindly remember to settle up her cleaning bill as her next clean is due soon.

She replied with , " i no longer need your services thanks" and that was it 14 years ended with those few words.

This is why your customers are not your friends. They are simply your customers and you should always remember that.

I had one last night, tried to pay me for five cleans. I told her it was only two. She shouted and swore at me and insisted it was five. Paid me online too. What she doesn't know is I tranferred the whole lot back into her account with some extra for luck.  That'll teach her, thick old bint!

I find at this time of the year people are inclined to pay me later than they normally do.It does make me mad as I am the one having to pay for the overdraft while they used me as a bank.

We won't clean more than 2 cleans for our loyal customers. Anyone new has to earn our trust so its 1 clean only. It takes several years before they are put on 2 cleans max.

I've started  being a one clean man.

If it gets to  a few days before next clean is due I will txt them again and say hi next clean due this week but not recieved payment for last clean yet.

If they haven't paid by the time I'm in the area I leave it and the next text will  be to tell them why it was left. If they are a decent person they will totally understand apologise and pay. If they are not well then they would get dumped eventually.

yes never go passed 2 cleans or youre on a hiding to nothing

youre better to make fresh effort to find new work.   a slow payer never comes good, the trickle dries up and you should move on

I have 3 and 4 timers on my books but never not been settled eventually.....they all work away a lot and all pay in full and a couple of times in front when they do pay.
