Do you trust suction cups?
« on: April 16, 2017, 09:25:00 am »
The suction cups you stick on Windows and fix a ladder to.

I just can't put my trust in them, I have been putting the strap through a window and wrapping it around a pole then closing the window ( this is on conservatory cleans)

I've looked online and seen men lifting huge pieces of glass with them  & even cranes lifting massive panels so they must be reliable.... but it just sucks :P

A single suction cup came included to be used with the conservatory roof ladder I have.
I replace it with this type instead lol http://www.screwfix.com/p/triple-cup-suction-lifter/7912p

To be honest as the conservatory ladder can be used without the roof ladder section so I don't normally bother to use it. Most of the time on filthy ones the quickest way I've found if required is to pretreat them with a chem of your choice, Then give it a quick brush over, let dwell and rinse. This sometimes can be done all from the ground without using ladders at all.  To kill green algae, lichen, moss etc I've found a weak hypo/soap mix works rather well.  Or if you want a quicker way is to spray all the roof with ddac and walk away letting mother nature do the work for you.

Mike you can probably tell I hate conservatory roof cleaning with a passion. lol
