SEO services - who uses one ?
« on: February 09, 2017, 05:20:07 pm »
Anyone employ a SEO guy ?

If so if you don't mind telling ... how much do you pay and what do you get for the money.

I spoke to a few last year and they wanted £200 minimum.

Most web site creation packages have SEO built in. Unless you are selling high volume goods, or selling stuff online i personally think that £200 is better spent on canvassing or having a canvasser.

I always found google adwords very good. Much cheaper than SEO and more tunable to the areas you want.

I am with Marc on this one. When I set up my Wordpress site it also had SEO built in and I just used what was available. I then learned how to use Google Ads properly and had a lot of success with it. Ironically, the visits to my website from Google ads has helped push my website up the rankings. I haven't done Google ads for about 5 months but I am still no.2. I will start again as soon as the weather breaks. IMO learn to do Google ads properly (and I mean properly) and forget spending fortunes on SEO.

Yes, i found that being as specific as possible with your target markets is the key. Short campaigns, keep the areas serviceable don't be silly with your budget, you don't need to spend loads to get results. I used things like "back to school" offers for when the mums all get a break sending kids back to school and "mothers day" incentives etc etc. It works.
